I’m really open minded!
by Karthik on Nov.15, 2007, under Cool Stuff, Cool sites, Personal
Checked this out in 10 daily things and I took the test.
You Are 80% Open Minded |
![]() You are so open minded that your brain may have fallen out! Well, not really. But you may be confused on where you stand. You don’t have a judgemental bone in your body, and you’re very accepting. You enjoy the best of every life philosophy, even if you sometimes contradict yourself. |
Looks like I’m very open minded. Good and at the same time causes some trouble too.
Sirpamaana pendirenru - Aalavandhan
by Karthik on Nov.14, 2007, under Cool Stuff, Creative
Finally managed to get this poem from the movie Aalavandhan. Written by Vairamuthu…
Sirpamaana pendirenru thedi odum maanida;
(Hey! Man who’s running after a shaply woman)
Arpamana maadharodu aasai kolvathenada;
(Why do you desire a cheap woman)
Karpu onru-irukkudhoa;
(Has she got a thing called chastity?)
kaaval onru-irukkudhoa;
(Is there a security to it?)
karbamerum paiyanodu kavasamitirukkudhoa;
(The child inside, is it an armor for her.)
Yet another amazing set of words from Vairamuthu.
Some deadly weapons in Kung fu
by Karthik on Nov.12, 2007, under Cool Stuff, Miscellaneous
The Butterfly Sword - The butterfly sword is usually wielded in pairs. As well, they are usually held side by side within the same scabbard, so as to give the appearance of a single weapon. The sword has also a small cross guard to protect the hands of the wielder, which can be used to block or hook an opponent’s weapon. The guard can also be used as a knuckle duster when non-lethal application of the weapon is desired.
Double Sticks - These are simple short slender, blunt, hand-held, generally wooden ’sticks’ for fighting such as a staff, cane, walking stick, baton or similar. These are held in both hands while facing the opponent. One could defend more than 1 opponent with this weapon.
Long Sticks - These are simple long slender, blunt, hand-held, generally wooden ’sticks’ for fighting such as a staff, cane, walking stick, baton or similar. Both Long and double sticks are practised in many martial arts. In Tamil Nadu you could find a lot of these stick fight experts. Its called Silambam.
Nunchaku - The otherwise called “Dual Section Staff” is a very effective close-range weapon. When used in combat the nunchaku provides the obvious advantage of an increase in the reach of one’s strike. Somewhat difficult to control, the rope or chain joint of the nunchaku adds the benefit of striking from unexpected angles. This is my favorite.
Sai - The sai’s utility as a weapon is reflected in its distinctive shape. With skill, it can be used against a long sword by trapping the sword’s blade in the sai’s tsuba. The sai also has many defensive uses in blocking other weapons. In Malay the sai is known as a chabang (also spelled cabang/tjabang, meaning branch) and is thought to derive from the Indian trident.
Swords - A Sword as we all know is a deadly weapon in skilled hands. There are different types of swords used in different martial art. even multiple swords are used in the same martial art. These are one of the oldest weapons of all times.
Fists - Last but not least, these are the most deadly weapon of all times. For a skilled man, he could face and defend himself from all the weapons mentioned above and much more. Could be used lethally and non-lethally. There are various fist forms in Kung fu. Shaolin fist, Snake fist, Tiger fist, Monkey fist, Eagle fist and Crane fist.
A Well trained martial artist can defend himself from any number of opponents, for the truth is there is never an opponent, because there is no I.

Most of us have seen Matrix revolutions. At the end of the movie, while playing the credits, you would have heard this song. Well, its from Bhagavat Gita. The lyrics goes like this. I loved this sing.
