Yea, you heard it right. Last week, Anoop and I were working on few things and suddenly my neighbour calls be to tell me there’s a snake in the parking lot. We rush to see it and it was…. wait for it…. Indian Cobra! A spectacled cobra - a new born, probably a week old. It was probably 40 cms long. I used a long stick and put the guy in a translucent bucket. Anoop stood next to with a lid for the bucket. There… We did it… We caught a snake at least once in my life. Well, its not a grown snake.. but still.

Take a look at the picture below. We called Anwin and he came along with his camera and we got a few pictures. Man… he was beautiful. He was a tiny little fellow. We called “People for animal” and got Mr. Prem Koshy take the snake away to a safe place next morning. He same with a jar in hand and took that beautiful creature away. If at all I could feed him mice and frogs consistently, I might not have let him go!

But in the mean time, we had a great time with the snake. I couldn’t capture all the beautiful things he did in the camera, but I saw him show his spectacle with all its beauty… over and over again! I’m sure there are a few more hatchlings around and I’m looking for them. If I see any more, will tell you another story.
