Social web clock

by on Jan.28, 2011, under Bangalore, Uncategorized

Haven’t been here for a while. Its good to be back. Was going through some new blogs and came across this Social media web clock by Gary Hayes. Found this on the Interface blog. Check this out. It tells you how many comments are submitted on Facebook, how many iPhone apps downloaded every second, how many emails being sent globally, etc. All real time. Stats also available for phones and games.

Will come back soon. Bye.

Norwegian Sunrise

by on Feb.12, 2010, under Uncategorized

Came across this beautiful video of the Sunnmøre region of western Norway. Found this video at Neatorama. Thought this deserves another mention.

Cineflex – Norwegian sunrise from Leif Holand on Vimeo.

Leif Holland captured these magnificent shots from a helicopter zooming around the peaks of the Sunnmøre region of western Norway.  A majestic reminder of the beauty of tall, massive rocks.

Help give education to 40,000 children

by on Jan.18, 2010, under Personal, Uncategorized

Recently came to know about Give India, an NGO that strives hard to eliminate illiteracy among poor. Anoop has written more about their initiatives what support they need from us.

As I have always been saying education is the best thing you can give another human being. Information leads to intelligence and lets help as many people around us with that by voting for Give India. I encourage every one who even just stumbles upon this blog for the very first time to take 2 mins off your time and vote for them. You can find more information about this in Anoop’s blog but I’ll paste it here as well.

“We can blog and vote to save these children as GiveIndia has done the hard work of being our “Man-At-Arms” . they are India’s most trusted and credible NGOs, GiveIndia is taking part in a competition on Facebook to win a US$1 million grant. The winner will be the NGO that gets the highest number of votes from Facebook users. The prize of $1 million will help put or keep 40,000 children across India in school for one year!
But then again, social media has this unique habit of changing the scene over night .. So all is not lost! and here are some details:

Where to vote ? : http://apps.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving/charities/338730

Do you want to do something extra?: Blog about it! and add relevant links

Do you need more information?: Visit the giveIndia blog http://blog.giveindia.org/

Do you want to be sure?: Send an email , giveindiachase@gmail.com

Do you want to talk about this with other people?: Log on to http://IndiBlogger.in/forum

So people, make sure you become a fan, vote for it, tweet and then also blog about it to make sure it gets the maximum reach.
